Postio was a fully functional prototype of a web-based email client, complete with an address book. Built entirely in Flash, one of the project's goals was to bring real application-level user interface elements and functionality to webmail.

Responsible for the design of all UI elements, I created icons, buttons, and other interface elements that form the "chrome" of the application.

An interesting discovery in this project ocurred after observing volunteers use an early prototype of the application. When the application looked too much like a desktop email program, the performance expectations were hard to fulfill even if performance relative to other webmail applications was favorable. To address this issue, the interface had to be "webified" to manage those expectations.
